Morrison was the first woman elected to serve in the state Senate. She also worked at UW-P, starting in 1970 as an assistant professor of economics. She was assistant professor of business organization and management in 1979-80.

Americans net worth slipped in the July-September quarter as shrinking stock portfolios overwhelmed a solid gain in home values. U.S. household wealth declined 0.2 percent in the third quarter to $81.3 trillion, the Federal Reserve said Thursday.
